Staring Down the Ghost of Clubbing Past w/ Aaron Goodwin of Ghost Adventure

One of my many favorite things about Vegas is that you never know who will turn up at a nightclub. Last night I hit up Vanity at the Hard Rock with the girls of the LV Weekly Team Hangover crew. And who did I run into but the cast of the Travel Channel’s show “Ghost Adventure.” Aaron told me that he indeed believes in ghosts. I do not, but I didn’t hassle him about it because I imagine he has a vested interest in that belief. And while I don’t believe in ghosts, I do believe in ghost HUNTERS. All in all, a fun time at the hippest, hoppest, coolest new club in town. (Just don’t tell the other new clubs I said so.)

It took two tries to find the perfect Stratosphere bar. Most people wouldn’t give the Stratosphere that many chances. But that is why most people aren’t bar columnists.

Green Times: Trying Absinthe at Aria

Though it’s embarrassing, I’ve realized that I really do want to become a rich and famous authoress. In order to help facilitate that dream, I’m going to make myself more visible on this blog. Incidentally, I also recently discovered iMovie on my Mac. So when I was trying out this awesome new restaurant called Sage at the new casino Aria at City Center, I filmed the absinthe service. I hope that you will find this film to be as fun as educational as I did. Oh and vote for me for prom queen. (just kidding on that last part.)

Mericia & I at the "Friendly Bar" at Sahara Hotel & Casino

Contrary to what you may be thinking, this is not one of those cheesy New Years Resolution blog posts. As for resolutions, I haven’t gotten around to making any yet. Instead, I encourage you all to continue a vice in 2010. Vices have a much higher success rate than resolutions, thus promoting a higher self-esteem. I suggest that you choose the vice of “drinking in sundry Vegas bars.” If, for whatever reason, this vice is not available to you, then I suggest you do the next best thing and read my bar column.

My most recent bar adventure happened at a wonderful little nook in the otherwise down-trodden Sahara Hotel and Casino. Their main claim to fame is their Dollar Beer/Shot/Hot Dog menu and one really awesome bartender. This may not seem like much, but having been to many many Vegas bars, I tell you, it beats the hell out of novelty bars.
